Any, I suppose. Memories are memories, right?

Memories are memories, true.

Honestly, even in this lifetime and to this day, when the first Shining Champion founded the temple that would go on to raise me... it was a victory.

I guess the context is important, because the first Shining Champion was a gladiator, a slave. ... To skip to the end, she escaped and freed the other slaves as well, and they hid in a ruin and defended it until their old masters were forced to retreat. They made it their home after that.

What did the temple look like?

[ not... gonna ask about the woman thing just yet ]

When they found it, it was huge but mostly collapsed. There was a courtyard that was mostly forest, a great fountain that was dusty and dry... foundations, but broken ones. After they had successfully defended it, of course, they rebuilt it.

Was it very beautiful?

In its prime it was very beautiful. It had gardens and fruit trees and fountains, and inside there was art and libraries and places where people could live, and learn and be taught, and large windows that let the sun in during the day and the moon at night. Eventually it grew from a temple into a temple village, and there were farms and homes and a market every week. It was peaceful and happy.

It sounds lovely. We don't have anything so large or grand in my country.

No? What is your country like?

[personal profile] tytosmima 2017-06-09 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Accipi... it's a lot of hills and mountains. I live in a little city some miles from the capital called Masca, in a valley. There's a lovely lake, north of us. We do have a few houses of worship in our city, for various deities, but no grand temples or churches like some others might. But even then it wouldn't be as large as the one you have.

Mine was unusual in its size, I believe. Your city sounds interesting. Is it terribly crowded?
tytosmima: (give me the blame)

[personal profile] tytosmima 2017-06-10 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
It's been getting bigger, the past few years... so it's only a little crowded. It's more or less a stopping point for a lot of travelers, since it's between the two mountains that cut off the capital from the border. They're not overly large mountains or hard to navigate, at least.

[personal profile] noyolo 2017-06-11 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
Still, I think going through a city would be preferable to navigating even small mountains.

Generally, yes. Most of the people who live in that area can fly over the mountains easy enough... eagles and such.
